AI platforms like Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are amazing inventions. They leverage AI models trained on enormous amounts of publicly available web data to answer questions, coach and consult with users, and behave like human-like “agents” to address a wide range of business needs.
Yet despite these capabilities, these models are “generic,” trained to use statistically averaged language, themes, and styles used across massive public corpus data.
What if you want your company’s AI agent to be an HR expert, trained and aligned to speak authoritatively, carefully, and educationally about leadership, recruiting, pay practices, and all the other talent and human capital issues in your company? Your Agent (and agents you build from that system) would suddenly be as smart as the world’s most renowned experts in HR.
In a pilot program with Microsoft, where the primary persona is a HR professional, we’ve just done this with M365 Copilot Tuning. Working in partnership with Microsoft, this week we demonstrated a “fine-tuned” version of the Copilot that incorporates all the knowledge, expertise, language, and data in Galileo®.
While this product is currently in early adopter program, it means companies that use the Microsoft 365 Copilot will soon be able to rely upon it to behave and act as an HR expert.
Many HR and management topics are unique to your company. As you create Copilot agents you’ll want to connect the agent to your own SharePoint files with company policies, pay practices, benefits, and other important compliance rules.
All this data, which you already have (but of course needs to be kept up to date), can be integrated with the Josh Bersin Company content tuned Copilot to give you a digital HR business partner, management and leadership coach, and human capital advisor and educator for your entire company. This means the Microsoft Copilot, fine-tuned with Galileo, becomes an expert in all areas of HR, management, leadership, and HR technology.
