Fama, the leading provider of social media screening for employers, today announced the launch of comprehensive YouTube screening, expanding its ability to surface workplace misconduct across the world’s largest video platform.

With more than 2.9 billion active users and over 500 hours of video uploaded every minute, YouTube represents the most extensive collection of user-generated video content online. Until now, employers have had no scalable, compliant way to review public YouTube content for misconduct risk.

Fama’s new YouTube capabilities allow organizations to identify eight types of workplace misconduct including threats, violence, harassment, and intolerance within both full-length videos and Shorts. From 30 second to 9-hour videos, Fama uses advanced AI models trained to understand context and Fama translates an otherwise unsearchable sea of content into structured workplace misconduct insights for hiring and ongoing talent management.

“In less than five years, 75% of the global workforce will be digital natives,” said Ben Mones, CEO of Fama. “This generation learns, communicates, and builds community online and much of that happens through video. As the way people express themselves evolves, so must the way organizations understand risk and reputation. Expanding Fama’s coverage to YouTube gives employers the visibility to keep pace with a workforce that lives on video.”

“Our solution can analyze thousands of hours of public video content in minutes,” said Brendten Eickstaedt, CTO of Fama. “The challenge wasn’t just scale, it was context. We engineered a multilayered system that understands tone and context while filtering out protected-class information. The result is high-volume insight that’s fair, accurate, and compliant.”

 Compliance, Accuracy, and Comprehensive Coverage

  • Compliant by design: Fama screens only publicly available content and aligns with FCRA, EEOC, PIPEDA, and GDPR.
  • Accuracy through AI + human review: More than 95% accurate across eight categories of workplace misconduct.
  • Comprehensive coverage: YouTube joins Fama’s existing video sources TikTok and Instagram Reels, creating the industry’s most complete view of public misconduct in video.
