A small rant about phones — Improve Your HR

My phone is such a distraction to me, so I decided to leave it on the other side of the room during my workday, unless I had to make an actual call. (Shudder.)

So, I put it across the room from me and set about to do all my work.

1. I need my Microsoft Authenticator to get into Inc’s CMS.
2. I need to access my bank account, and that requires hitting authorize on the bank app on my phone
3. I need to download my credit card statement for September so I can put in my expenses. I need to hit authorize on the credit card app on my phone
4. Ugggh, somehow I got logged out of a Gmail account. To get back in, I need to open Gmail on my phone.
5. Gotta update my website in Wix. Oh, can’t do that without hitting authorize on the Wix app on my phone

It’s hopeless. If I lose my phone, I can’t work or manage my finances.

And I look back to 1998 when I told my boyfriend he was ridiculous for buying a cell phone. Why on earth would anyone need a cell phone?

I think I was on to something back then.
