The Geneva Schema refers to a standardized taxonomy of job requirement types proposed during an international conference in Geneva in 1950. It was designed for use in analytical job evaluation methods and has since served as a foundational framework for numerous later-developed approaches in workplace assessment.
This classification system distinguishes four main requirement categories, which are further refined—based on whether the demands are muscular or non-muscular—into six applicable types of job requirements.
The Geneva Schema remains a cornerstone in the job analysis and evaluation field, offering a structured way to differentiate and assess the various demands a job places on an employee.
